Transportation

Air travel to Greenwood is as easy as booking general aviation services at the Greenwood-Leflore Airport. Surrounding cities also provide accessible flight options including: The Jackson-Evers International Airport, the Greenville Airport and Memphis International Airport, offering a combined total of more than 300 scheduled national and international flights per day.

Greenwood is located 25 minutes off Interstate 55 and is served by U.S. highways 82 and 49 and state highways 7 and 430. Interstate 69 will soon bisect the Mississippi Delta along with four-lane U.S. 61. The proposed site is located a quarter of a mile of off U.S. Highway 82. Highway 82 will soon be a full 4-lane highway across the entire state of Mississippi.

AmtrakA large number of motor freight carriers serve the two county areas, including FedEx and UPS as well as Greyhound package express. United Parcel Service operates a local terminal at the Greenwood-Leflore Airport for next day parcels deliveries. Locally based J&N Trucking operates a fleet of 85 dry vans to support area industries.

Amtrak Railroad as well as the Columbus & Greenville Railway Company and the Canadian National-Illinois Central provide timely and on-going service to the area for both passengers and freight.
